6th May 2017 [Lahore] – NSPIRE -a business incubator launched by Pakistan’s premier IT company NETSOL Technologies Pvt. Limited, presents the graduates of its second cycle at its 2nd Demo Day.
The demo day is a half-day event where the four teams from the second cycle pitch their business ideas to the business leaders and investors. These emerging companies presented their challenges, successes, and lessons learned during the five months incubation cycle at NSPIRE. The judge’s panel included eminent industry leaders: Mr. Faisal Sherjan (Director, LUMS); Mr. Zaeem Yaqoob (Director Student Affairs and External Relations, BNU); Mr. Kamran Niazi (Economic Growth Specialist, USAID) and Mr. Ali Aziz (CEO, Shopistan).
Mr. Ayub Ghauri – Head of NSPIRE, says “The second cohort of NSPIRE is a dynamic mix of startups in the e-commerce, retail, services and law sectors. They are offering amazing products and solutions in the B2B & B2C markets. We are thoroughly inspired by the progress they have made within five months only and we look forward to seeing them grow by leaps and bounds in the coming future.”
To encourage young entrepreneurs, NSPIRE’s 2nd Demo Day also showcased business idea pitches from other startups. The 2nd demo day was organized at NSPIRE’s partner space, Daftarkhwan (DK) – a premier co-working space in Lahore. Renowned consultant and investor Mr. Zeshan Afzal and Ms. Shanze Faiz from Gallivant Solutions Inc. were also one of the chief guests.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Maryam Mohiuddin from Daftarkhwan remarked, “We’re glad to host NSPIRE’s Demo Day at Daftarkhwan. The sole idea behind DK was to bring the entire entrepreneurial ecosystem in one place and learn from each other. I am so excited to see the talent we have here in Pakistan. DK’s doors are always open to support this talent”.

Shopdesk is a cloud-based Retail Management Software and E-commerce platform for small and medium size retailers. It’s a device independent solution that enables its customers to sell in stores and online by managing inventory and books, all in one place.
Qanoon.com.pk is providing online legal consultancy services to the general public, overseas Pakistanis, and the corporate sector. It provides simplicity of finding the best lawyer in the country according to their law practices. Furthermore, they also offer carefully designed practice management system for lawyers and the law firms.
Kitaab Khaana offers a hassle-free experience of buying course-packs, books, stationary items through an online platform.
Apna Table is a free, online restaurant table reservation system specifically designed for diners in Pakistan.
Overall, the teams generated the revenue of approximately 400,000 PKR within the five months incubation cycle only. Whereas, one of the teams i.e. Kitaab Khaana raised the investment of One million PKR. The teams also signed partnership with Finja, RIMs (Govt. of the Punjab), Appsgenii and EP. The overall jobs created by the four teams were equal to 50.
